The video in the little museum was actually more informative than what I learned on the $30 tour.Thank you for purchasing your tickets to the world-famous Winchester Mystery House. There is a small Winchester museum so you can see some of the guns. The house in itself is incredibly interesting and it is huge and really fun to look through. I really didn't like that aspect of it, it took a lot away from me enjoying the tour and being able to enjoy the house in my own way. The tour guide was frustrating because he kept yelling the number for the room when I was trying to listen to the audio recording. I thought that was incredibly stupid - it should either be an audio tour with the little electronic thing or a tour guide leads you through the house and explains everything to you, not both. My other complaint is the way the tour is constructed, it's a guided audio tour - meaning you have the little audio things that tell you everything about the room but there is also an employee who walks you around in a group and says which number to push in each room. That's the most expensive tour I've ever personally done. Using restroom and satisfy your eating/drinking needs before the tour is a wise idea. You have to stay with the group, or ask guide for an individual escort. Be aware that there are no exit/short cuts back to the gift shop. Therefore the total time of the tour is more like 80-90 minutes. The tour starts very slow ~ everybody has to pose for a rifle picture, and test audio equipment. ![]() Remember, the house is a complex maze for purpose so any visitor or ghost can loose its way in a minute (max). It is a group audio tour with a guide so nobody gets lost. For that I will give “F” to their customer service. We get a very little info prior the tour, and stayed in long lane untill the ticketing lady finished her private conversation (five minutes!). I you are not exited by the story, the saving from not going on the tour is good. But seeing is believe so from that point of view it was worth $30.00 an entry. The story is funny, freaky, amazing and impossible to believe. Winchester, who was trying to confuse the ghosts by rapidly overbuilding, expending and constantly remodeling her villa. We visited the Mystery House because of the story of Mrs.
